Mr. Hunnicutt passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at RMC Hospital in Anniston. Richard Brian Hunnicutt Jr, was born on February 1, 1964 in Birmingham, but wherever he went, he said he was “from Clay County”. A proud Panther, he graduated Class of 1982 from Clay County High School where he met the love of his life, Angela, his high school sweetheart and together they celebrated 35 years of marriage. He was a self-taught Journeyman Millwright until he and his bride decided to move home, start a family and open a business. He had an eye for the diamond in the rough when it came to his vehicles, and anybody who saw him driving around in his Chevy flatbed never doubted who was behind the wheel. Through the years, Brian carried many Titles: Brother, Husband, Dad, Friend; Later, he earned a new one, Grandpa. He loved his lazy afternoons, battling his neighbors to have the prettiest yard, and spending time with his grandson, kids, and grand-pup.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Angela Hunnicutt of Ashland; two children: Victoria Hunnicutt Whitley (Ben) of Anniston and Richard Brian Hunnicutt III of Ashland; one grandson, Marcus Clifford Whitley of Anniston; one sister, Stephanie Adee (Tim) of Neodesha, KS; one brother, Brent Hunnicutt of Ashland; 7 nieces and nephews: Shanna Wooten (Tyler), Taylor Denney (Devin), Trenton Adee, Tiffany Adee, Leslie Hunnicutt, Tyler Hunnicutt (Megan), and Lauren Hunnicutt; 5 great-nieces and nephews , a host of cousins and other extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Richard Brian Hunnicutt Sr. and Faith Richeson Grogan; his paternal grandparents: Otto and Margaritte Hunnicutt; and his maternal grandparents: O.R. and Katherine Richeson.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital: www.stjude.org or a charity of your choice.
