Bruce Martin PlattBruce Martin Platt, age 74 of Belvidere, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Vanderbilt Harton Hospital in Tullahoma. He was born July 31, 1947 and was a 1965 graduate of Franklin County High School. After joining the US Air Force in 1966, he travelled the world and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from M-Tek in 2005 and continued doing all the things he loved to do. A faithful Christian at Owl Hollow Church of Christ, he enjoyed visiting people with Walter Rayburn and never met a stranger. Everywhere he went, he would find someone he knew. In his spare time, Bruce loved coin collecting, knives, metal detecting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laban H. Platt and Virginia Baker Platt. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Stephens Platt; daughter, Debbie K. Platt of Winchester; son, David Platt of Decherd; brother, Ben Platt of Manchester; sister, Brenda Platt, who passed away only a few hours later; grandchildren, Jessica Platt (Steve Moore), Casey (Cayla) Wilburn, Robert Louden Platt (Destiny Tucker), Brooke, Leah and Emma Platt; great-granddaughter, Luna Morrigan and soon to be, Baby Wilburn. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Walter Rayburn officiating.
