Billy George Short, age 51, passed away on September 9, 2021 at his residence in Jasper, Alabama.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 69 N, Jasper, Alabama. Joey Vick will officiate.
Billy loved God and his family beyond measure. He also loved his country. He began serving in the military reserves and later in active duty. In 2011 he transitioned from military service to working with a government defense contractor in Afghanistan and remained there until 2021.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Patricia Mauldin Short; grandparents, Benny and Audrey Short and George and Aline Mauldin.
He is survived by his father, Billy E. Short; sister, Kelly Meadows (Ron); niece, Alyssa Meadows and a host of relatives and friends.
