John Robert Harris

John was born July 16, 1953 in Meridian, MS. He was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, friend, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. John grew up in the small town of Livingston, AL and went on to attend The University of Alabama where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. He then moved to Birmingham where he raised his family and started his career in computer programming. John took great pride in all areas of involvement with his children, but especially coaching them in baseball and softball. He moved to Huntsville in 2001 where he continued his career and began using his talents as an actor in the Huntsville theatre community. John had many passions including Alabama football, performing in many plays, and singing karaoke. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His contagious laugh and welcoming smile will always remain in our hearts. He will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dupont Guerry Harris and Elma Mae Harris. He is survived by his children, Amanda (James) Fowler, Jonathan Harris, and Adam (Ann Lindsay) Harris; grandchildren, Mary Evan Flory, Amelia Harris, and Eleanor Fowler; siblings, Marcia (Bob) Broxton, Rochelle (Tom) Stocks, and Charles (Becki) Harris; and many cherished friends.

There will be a receiving of family and friends at Berryhill Funeral Home on Sunday, September 12th from 3-5 p.m.
