Funeral services for Mr. Allen Eugene Jones, age 61, will be held at 1 pm Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 pm until 9 pm on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Shelton Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Jones was born in Chicago, IL on September 21, 1959 and attended Peabody High School in Trenton, TN as well as Union University in Jackson, TN. He was a life long carpenter and pastor of Unity Baptist Church in Oakfield, TN. He also dedicated his life in service to the CEO of Jabez Ministries.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Jones; and his sister, Angela Kay Strachn.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Cathy Cole Jones of Trenton, TN; three children, Amy (Chuck) Daniels of Cotton Town, TN, Matt (Deidre) Jones of Milan, TN, and Bethany (James) Edge of Jackson, TN; his mother, Freda Warren Jones of Trenton, TN; brother, Steve (Elga) Strachn of Winter Springs, FL; three grandchildren, Raegan Thurston, Will Thurston, and Ally Jones; four nieces and nephews, Adam Strachn, Natalie (Gabriel) Dorta, Brittany Cole, and Jacob Cole; and his beloved dog, Carly.
