Rex Eugene Freeman, 58, a life long resident of Dora, passed away August 25, 2021 at his residence.
He attended Dora Church of God where he loved serving the Lord. He was and employee of UAB Medical Center-Maintenance Dept. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends. During his life he did various missionary work with his sister Pearl, which he greatly enjoyed and which he always wanted to return to one day.
Funeral services will be Sunday August 29, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Dora Church of God. Rev. Lewis Smith and Rev. Ray Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow at Brasfield Cemetery in Burnwell. Visitation is Saturday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fairn and Estelle Freeman; brother-in-law, Michael Kelley and nephew, Dennis Browning.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Freeman; children, Andrea Freeman and Conner Freeman; stepdaughter, Jessika Gaskin (Quenton); grandchildren, Joshua Taylor, Jade Freeman, Rylen Gaskin and McKinley Gaskin; sister and best friend, Pearl Shelton; brother, Leo Freeman (Joyce) and Earl Freeman (Linda); sister, Charlotte Vines (Marlin); nieces, Chrissy Estes (Johnny) and Brittany Freeman(and her mother Denise)); great nieces and nephew, Trevor Butler, Caitlynn Butler and Ella Estes; lots of cousins and friends.
