William Atwood Brown, 73, a native of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Friday August 20, 2021.
Growing up, William worked at his Grandfather’s general store, J.C Brown. The store was his happy place for many years. He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served on the USS Intrepid. William graduated from the University of Alabama. He made a career selling office furnishings for many years. He always enjoyed work and loved talking to people. He was a friend to many, and never met a stranger.
William is survived by his wife, Valerie Thompson Brown; daughter, Lillian Atwood Brown May (Connor J. May); sisters, Helena B. Hunter, and Nancy B. Fisher. Several nieces and nephews. William is preceded in death by his parents, William A. Brown and Helena M. Brown; brother, Charles F. Brown.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 28th at 11:00 A.M. at Maple Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to The National Children’s Advocacy Center. 210 Pratt Ave NE Huntsville, Alabama 35801 www.NationalCAC.org
