James Marlin Hughes, 76 of Arab passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Huntsville Hospital. Marlin was born February 15, 1945, the son of Thomas Cranfil Hughes and Eliza Farley Hughes. He was retired from Parker-Hannifin. He was a loving husband and father, an avid Alabama fan, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and spent a lot of his time gardening.
He is survived by his wife: Rachel Folsom Hughes; Daughter: Kristy (Chris) Benefield; Sister: Linda (Donnie) Davidson; Brothers: Reefer (Belinda) Hughes and Lester (Joan) Hughes; Host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral Service was held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Don Laney officiating. Burial was in Brookwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Michael Davidson, Adam Hughes, Todd Hughes, Mark Hughes, Austin Cagle and Cecil Canida. Honorary Pallbearers: Allen McClendon, Will Price, Chris Pettus, Richard Folsom and his former co-workers at Parker-Hannifin.
