Mrs. Margaret Thompson Larkin, age 90, of Arab, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Elmcroft Assisted Living.
Mrs. Larkin was born on August 25, 1930 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Elmer Thompson and Myrtle Hastings Thompson. Mrs. Larkin was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Arab. She enjoyed woodworking with her husband John and traveling throughout the southeast attending arts and craft events.
Mrs. Larkin is survived by her two sons, Gary W. Larkin (Ruth) and John Larkin Jr. (Lynn), both of Huntsville, AL; one daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Shumate (Jimmy) of Union Grove, AL; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister and one brother.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Larkin was preceded in death by her husband, John Larkin, Sr.; son, Nicky Larkin; daughter, Annette Larkin; nine sisters and brothers.
Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. – Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Nicky James officiating with entombment to follow at Brookwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: John Larkin III, Eddie Larkin, Josh Shumate, Rick Lemke, Kevin Schaeffer and Anthony Wilson.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. -Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
