Mr. Sherman Denny Simmons age 84 of McMinnville, TN, died at his home peacefully on Sunday, August 08, 2021, surrounded by family. He was born in White County, TN, on September 02, 1936, served his country with the U.S. Army, was formerly employed in the rotor department at Magnetek Century Electric for 31 years, and was a faithful member of Arlington Church of Christ where he served as Deacon. Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by parents Thurman and Patti Elizabeth Wilson Simmons, sister Patti Hash, brothers Junior, James, and Otis Simmons, and half-brothers Herbert and Hubert Simmons.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Agnes Miller Simmons, their children Tracy and husband Mark Bain and Stephen and wife Melissa Simmons, grandchildren Ashlei and husband Travis Montgomery, Samuel and wife Miranda Bain, Laura Bain, Abigail Bain, and Zackery Simmons, step-grandchildren Myca Jade and husband Dewayne Wright and Bailey Spain, and sister-in-law Carolyn and husband Aubrey McBride. Nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends surviving.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, August 09, 2021, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Mark Bain and Samuel Bain officiated.
