Graveside service for Vicki Lynn Hoover Jarvis, age 65, a Decatur native who departed her earthy life on August 3, 2021, will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Decatur City Cemetery with Pastor Tony Willis officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Jarvis was born November 1, 1955, in Decatur, to W. F. Hoover and Lazelle Roper Hoover.  She was preceded in death by her parents who were also Decatur natives.

Vicki was one of a kind.  She never met a stranger, loved hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas at her house every year (plus any other get-together she could host), and she was “Roll Tide” for life.  She always put everyone before herself, and loved to sing praise and worship songs.  Her life was Christ-centered; her prayers powerful.  She loved sharing the gospel and led many people to Christ.  As much as she will be missed, we know she is at peace, and her body is whole again.  We know she is surrounded by loved ones who went before her, and worshipping in the present of her King.

She is survived by her husband, Jon Jarvis of Decatur; one daughter, Kala Emmons of Madison; one granddaughter, Kendra Emmons of Madison; two sisters, Marsha Taylor of Franklin, TN and Karen Shirley of Birmingham; and one niece, Leslie Morrison of Franklin, TN.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the American Brain Tumor Association (www.abta.org).
