Monroe Bobby Blackwell, age 67 of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at UAB Hospital. He owned and operated Blackwell Body Shop since 1975. He attended Curry Church of God. He loved to fish. He loved his family and did anything that he could to help.
There will be walk-thru visitation on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, masks are required. The family will have a private graveside service on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Bennett Cemetery. Garry Barton will officiate. There will be a candlelight memorial service on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at Huckleberry Farms on Walston Bridge Road, masks will be required.
Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his Father-Bobby Blackwell; Mother-Audie Blackwell; Sisters-Betty Freeman, Bobbie Jean (Jeannie) Barber; Mother-in-law-Lear Abbott Keeton; Nephew-Allen Barber; Sister-in-law-Denise (Terri) Blackwell.
He is survived by his Wife-Kathy Blackwell of Jasper; Nieces-Misty Robertson Smith of Hoover, Charity Estill Mills of Jasper, Crystal Robertson Higgins of Hoover, Jennifer King, Janet Grace, Ellen Laquiere; Nephews-Timothy Robertson of Jasper, Michael Estill of Jasper, Justin Estill of Jasper, Johnny Freeman, Jason Freeman, Steven Barber; Sisters-in-law-Charlene Robertson (Johnny) of Jasper, Myra Haley (Wayne) of Jasper; Brother-Jimmy Harold Blackwell of Jasper.
