Catherine "Kitty" Rogers  Funeral Services for Mrs. Catherine “Kitty” Rogers, age 71 of Lineville, will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Liberty Hill Congregational Methodist Church on Hwy 431 with Rev. Gary Cox and Rev. Doug Shepperd officiating. A Private family burial will take place later.

Mrs. Rogers passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Clay County Hospital. Mrs. Kitty was born in West Point, GA, lived a majority of her life in Cleburne County and eventually settled in Clay County in 1986. Her working career consisted of different jobs, including getting her cosmetology degree in Anniston, worked in the Commissary department at Ft. McClellan for 20 years, running the lunchroom at Higgins manufacturing with Vandella Inc. for several years before eventually finding her calling as a caterer. She also worked part-time at H & R Block and was often referred to as the Tax lady. Mrs. Kitty thoroughly enjoyed camping, having her friends and family hang out with her by the pool, and feeding multitudes of people. She and her sister Dianne were playfully known as the “Pinochle Queens”, even having shirts made and often hosting tournaments that were known to be quite intense. She also enjoyed camping, painting ceramics, cross-stitching, and loving on all of her grandchildren. The nickname “Miss Kitty”, came from the actress by the same name off of Gunsmoke, known for her bright red hair. She loved her family dearly and was a member of Liberty Hill Congregational Methodist Church.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband, Michael Rogers of Lineville; three daughters: Tammy Conway (Bryan) of Weaver, Sandy Harris of Lineville, and Michelle Lipham (Matt) of Munford; two sons: Michael Rogers Jr. (Melissa) of Sylacauga and Scott Turner of Heflin; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dianne Cordell of Franklin, GA and Linda Stewart of Lineville; one brother, Paul Jones of Stockbridge, GA and a large extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert High Jones and Jessie Corbin Stephens Jones; two sisters and three brothers.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Liberty Hill Congregational Methodist Church from 1:30 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P.M.
