Sarah Ann Frees, 72 of North Carolina, formerly of the Union Grove area passed away at her home in the early morning hours of Monday, July 19, 2021.

Mrs. Frees was born October 15, 1948, the daughter of Howard T. Wesson and Helen “Hazel” Patterson Wesson. She grew up in Sylacauga, Alabama and lived for several years in Arab, Alabama and in Round Rock, Texas. She moved to North Carolina to be close to her daughters and grandchildren.

Sarah retired from AllState as a claims adjuster. In her early years, Sarah was on the swim team in grade school. She loved scrapbooking, taking pictures, spending time with family and friends and cooking for her family, even though she couldn’t even taste it. She loved her dogs and taking walks with them. Sarah’s Chihuahua, “Rees-e” is now living with Kim. When Sarah would find a penny, on her walks she would pick it up and call them “Pennies from Heaven.” She liked keeping up with everyone on Facebook and would sign off with “Gorilla Hugs and Butterfly Kisses.” Sarah loved God and gave Him the Glory ! Her favorite Bible verse was found in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens Me.”

She is survived by two Daughters: Kimberly J. Smith-Conway and Rebecca Dawn Smith; four grandchildren: Nicholas, Aaron, Jordan and Sarah Deja; a Great Grandson: Isaiah; a Brother: Roger Dale Ditto; two Sisters: Mary Frances Workman and Louise W. McGrady Frey, several other Family Members and Many Dear Friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Gober Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Smith, Jordan Smith, Kaden Ditto, Brier Ditto, Scottie Ditto and Terry Frey.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Gober Funeral Chapel.
