Joy Ellis Warner, 90, of Athens, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Limestone Health Facility.

Mr. Warner was born April 10, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to Forest Sylvester Warner and Dorcas Grace Barnhouse Warner. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Betty Ann Warner, his second wife, Loretta Faye Warner, one daughter, Cynthia Ann Smith, two brothers, Folger and Mardis, and two sisters, Edith and Evelyn.

He was a member of Market Street Church of Christ. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Funeral service will be Monday, July 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton, OH.

Survivors include his son, Doug Warner and wife Tammie of Ardmore; one sister, Sarah Warner of Delaware, OH; three grandchildren, Ashley Marelich, Adam Smith, Rachel Seaton, and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
