John Ewing Pierson III, age 75 of Tullahoma, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. He was born on October 18, 1945 in Trenton, New Jersey to the late John Ewing Pierson II and Dorothy Edna May Pierson. John earned a Bachelor’s in Industrial Education which he used to teach deaf students industrial education for 10 years. He then transitioned into training and development for various manufacturing companies. When he was not teaching he also served as the soccer coach for the Wade Hampton High School in Varnville, South Carolina. In his free time he greatly enjoyed going shrimping and fishing, watching his grandkids play sports, or watching his favorite Baseball team the Atlanta Braves. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dana Burress Pierson; and sister, Nancy Pierson. He is survived by his children, Candace (Casey) Ballard of Tullahoma, Lauren (Doug) Howard of Ft. Worth, TX, Christopher Pierson, John E. Pierson IV both of Temple, TX; grandchildren, Caleb Ballard, Catelynn Ballard, Camden Ballard, Ashlynn Howard, Savannah Pierson, Brinley Pierson, and John E. Pierson V aka Finn. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 3:00PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home (300 1st Ave. NW, Winchester, TN 37398), with the funeral service following at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
