William King Simmons, 90, of Huntsville, passed away July 15, 2021 at his residence under hospice care. Mr. Simmons served a tour in the US Army and spent the next 30 years as a civil engineer working for NASA on the space program. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Davis Simmons. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed.
Survivors include his second wife, Dorothy Long Simmons; sons, Bill Simmons III (Nancy), Bradley Minter Simmons (Vanessa), Barry Neilson Simmons (Xan), and Brian Allen Simmons; 8 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William Hix officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
