Dorothy Jean Russell, age 80, of Cherokee, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021. The visitation will be Thursday, July 15, at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rod Stansky officiating.
Dorothy was a native of Cherokee, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Delilah Higginbottom; her sisters, Nellie Sue Sappington and Charlie Mae Young; her brothers, Hollis Higginbottom, Jr., and Cleston Hue Higginbottom; and her husband, Terry H. Russell.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Mary Russell Fuller (Mike) and Wanda Russell Rahaim (Billy); brother, Harold Wayne Higginbottom; sisters, Eva Bradley and Sanna Cedillo; grandchildren, Michael Joseph Fuller (Kendra), Bradley D. Sprague (Tammy), Kristen Fuller Cardwell (Evan), Brittney Kay Rahaim (Ryan), and Megan Jeanelle Rahaim; and her great-grandchildren, Skyla Sprague, Aerial Sprague, Jenna Sprague, Everett Joseph Fuller, Ann(Annie) Katherine Cardwell, Ellie Caroline Cardwell, Isiah Black, Lucas Black, Caroline Elizabeth Fuller, and Reed Alexander Fuller.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Encompass Hospice, Lisha Murphy, Sabrina Duncan, Rhonda Vincent, and Nelda Burlison.
