Mattie Lou Proffitt 86 of Huntsville, AL, passed away on July 8, 2021 in Huntsville, AL.
Mattie Lou Parson was born in London, KY to Luther and Sarah Parson on July 13, 1934. She worked as an office manager for Huntsville Moving Service for 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, time with grandkids, great grandkids, doing word search, and reading her Bible. She received awards and honors while involved in Huntsville Bowling Leagues.
Mattie Lou Proffitt is survived by daughters Shirley Proffitt Wright and Linda Proffitt, son David Proffitt, grandchildren Ryan Schell, Daniel Schell, Justin Atchley, Scott Proffitt, Laura Proffitt, Alexandria Wright, and Ashley Wright, great grandchildren Alayna Sanders, Hayden Schell, Lilly Atchley, and Addie Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her parents Luther and Sarah Parson, the love of her life Ray Proffitt, 10 brothers and sisters, and grandson Mark David Proffitt. We know she is celebrating being forever with her family and her God.
Visitation will be held at Spry Funeral Home on July 15, 2021 from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Spry Funeral Home on July 15, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. with Bruce Aquilla officiating. Burial will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens, University Dr. Spry Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Our family would like to thank each one of you for your precious messages, phone calls, visits, support and mostly loving our precious mom. She will always remain in our hearts. Our Mom was the center of our world. She gave us strength, encouragement and faith in our God. We know we will see her again. Her laughter and her love for all she met was amazing. We love you all!
