Mr. Melton Leroy “Buck” Jones of Joppa, Alabama; passed away on Friday – July 9, 2021 at the age of 89 years.
Mr. Jones was born on January 2, 1932, to the Almer Wesley Jones and Mamie Dora Green Jones. He lived in the Hulaco/Ryan area all of his life. He attended the Ryan Baptist Church. He was a cattle farmer. He enjoyed gardening, growing fresh vegetables and flowers and loved to sit out in the yard and enjoy the fresh air. He enjoyed horse and buggy riding, going out to eat, watching westerns, and drinking Dr. Pepper.
Mr. Jones leaves behind to celebrate his life son, Terry Melton Jones (Kelley); daughter, Linda Gale Jones; sisters, Sarah Jones Moore, Christine Jones Powell (Delano “Brud”); 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved parents; Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his wife Billie Frankie Kennedy-Jones; brothers, Marvin “Cub” Jones, Henry Wesley Jones; sister, Edna Inez Jones.
A visitation will take place at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Thursday – July 15, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Graveside service will take place at the Ryan Cemetery in Joppa on Thursday – July 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers escorting Mr. Jones to his final resting place will be; Michael Powell, Hershel Patterson, Ronnie Trammell, David Latham, Jackie Bailey, Rodney Bradley.
