Mr. Hubert Leon Rutherford, age 93, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Huntsville Health and Rehab.
Mr. Rutherford was born on June 12, 1928 in Marshall County, Alabama to the late William Thomas Rutherford and Pearl Ann Dunn Rutherford. Mr. Rutherford worked as a Civil Engineer for the Department of Transportation. He was a lifetime resident of Union Grove and a faithful member of the Mountain View Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and a song leader at Mountain View. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, family trips to Gulf Shores, and just riding around and taking in the scenery.
Mr. Rutherford leaves behind to celebrate and reminisce his life; son, Bill Rutherford (Elaine); daughter, Mary Ann Henry (Max); grandchildren, Amanda Hollaway (Stacey), Lee Henry (April), Jessica Rutherford; great grandchildren, Aaron Hollaway, Luke Hollaway, Brodie Henry, Sophie Henry.
In addition to his beloved parents, Mr. Rutherford is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Clemons Rutherford; daughter, Wanda Lynn Rutherford; brothers, William Rutherford, Jr., Jack Daniel Rutherford.
A visitation will take place at the Mountain View Baptist Church, Union Grove, on Wednesday – July 14, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
Funeral service will take place at the Mountain View Baptist Church, Union Grove, on Wednesday – July 14, 2021 starting at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Greg Narrell, officiating.
Interment will follow service immediately at the Mountain View Cemetery.
Pallbearers escorting Mr. Rutherford to his final resting place will include: Luke Hollaway, Brodie Henry, Lee Henry, Aaron Hollaway, Stacy Hollaway and Steve Rutherford.
Gentlemen serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be; Delano Powell, Marvin Dunn, Vance Decker, Johnny Rutherford and Radford Pritchett.
