Oscar M. Hobson, 81, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 13. Oscar was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on November 7, 1939. He served in the US Army and was a member of the Color Guard. Oscar worked for many years as a subcontractor on Redstone Arsenal until his retirement and was a recipient of the Silver Snoopy award from NASA. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Huntsville.

Oscar loved taking care of his home and was a devoted caretaker to his wife. He loved Nascar and loved to tinker on cars in his younger years.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary Faye Hobson; brother, Roger Hobson of Fayetteville, NC; son, Robert Kircus (Vicki) of Ardmore, AL; grandchildren, Michael Sapp of Toney, AL, Becky Brown of Ardmore, AL, Laura Watson of Huntsville, AL; and four great-grandchildren.

At his request he was cremated and there will be no funeral service. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date when he is laid to rest in Fowlkes Cemetery in Monrovia, AL.
