Father Mario Solorzano will officiate the mass. Visitation will be Monday, June 14, 2021 from 12 noon until 2 pm at St. James Catholic Church.
Born July 15, 1941 in Al-Bireh City/Palestine, Raheel passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Country Cottage in Corinth, MS. Growing up Raheel would come home every day to help her mother with the house and taking care of her siblings. She was very talented, she did knitting, embroidery work and carpet weaving. She even taught herself to sew clothing by using the Burda Magazine. Later in life she worked at a local drug manufacturing company where her dedication and hard work got her promoted to shift supervisor and later to Pharmacist assistance.
Raheel got married in 1972 and moved to Houston, TX. She spent most of her time taking care of her husband, her step children and their family business. Raheel was very active in church and very well known for her good cooking. She enjoyed everyone, family and friends, coming to her home and was always ready to feed them all. After her husband died, she spent lots of time with her sisters and family, she even went to Palestine in 2014 to visit her family there. October 2018, her god daughter, Wafa Hsu and her husband Dr. Patrick Hsu moved her to Corinth to take care of her. Raheel lived with them for 3 months then she moved next door to a private assisted living home. She made friends easily and enjoyed doing all kinds of activities such as playing bingo, exercise and having coffee with everyone. She always told everyone she met about Jesus, Jerusalem and the Holy Land. She always made time for her family by having outings with them at least twice a week.
Raheel is survived by her brothers and sisters, Naser Rafidi, Naheel Khawja, Siham Sakran, Riad Rafidi, Asmaham Kashou and Wafa Hsu; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Issa Baba; father, Awad Rafidi; mother, Nimeh Rafidi and brothers, Ibrahim (Abe) and Zahi Rafidi. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Pine Vale Children’s Home or St. Jude. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Raheel Rafidi Baba.
