Michael Wayne Golightly

Age 74, of White House, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Hendersonville Medical Center. He was born November 28, 1946 in Phillipstown, IL to William “Sonny” Sanford & Gladys Whybark Golightly. Mike retired from the Federal USDA in 2001, after 34 years of service. He additionally worked for the State of TN USDA and retired after 10+ years of service. He had a love for many things, especially playing golf, fishing, traveling and his St. Louis Cardinals. He loved his entire family and friends with everything that he had. He was his grandkids biggest fan and supported them in everything they did. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Lynn Golightly; brother, William “Bill” Golightly, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Peggy Golightly, White House, TN; daughters, Genny (Danny) Dixon, White House, TN and Donna (Lee) Eubanks, Hendersonville, TN; brother, Roger (Michelle) Golightly, Wingo, KY; 8 grandchildren, Kelly (Wesley)Jones, Brittany (Randy) Vaught, Brandon, Vick, Rob (Taylor) Dorris, Kim (Brandon) Harms, Tyler Dixon, Chris Eubanks and Brittany (Pete) Witkowski; 7 great-grandchildren, Riley, Lella & Liam Vaught, Tuck Dorris, Carson Eubanks, Claire Witkowski and soon to arrive Jack Michael Harms. Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 3pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Danny Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with Brandon Vick, Rob Dorris, Tyler Dixon, Randy Vaught, Wesley Jones and Brandon Harms serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is planned for Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 12:30PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
