Funeral services for Mr. Albert R. “Sonny” Mullally, age 80 of Delta, will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Pastor Kevin Acre officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel (North) Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Sonny passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Clay County Hospital. Born and raised in Clay County, he moved to Florida in the 1950’s before returning home for the last 15 or so years. Sonny was a hardworking man all of his life; he worked for over 30 years with Mosaic Bartow in Acid Maintenance. Sonny was a family man and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was simple and easy going, and just enjoyed life. Sonny also enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with nature.
He is survived by his children: Maylon Mullally (Donna) of Newell, Lorie Castor and Maylon O. Mullally, Jr., both of Delta, his sister, Joyce Aucoin of Louisiana, four brothers: Jimmy Mullally of Clay County, Ray Mullally of Delta, Royce Mullally of Randolph County and Junior Mullally of Lineville, 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Christine Mullally, two sons: Albert “Rusty” Mullally, Jr. and David G. Mullally, four sisters and two brothers.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 12:30 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of arrangements.
