Mr. Alvie Jess Parker, age 99 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Hytop Holiness with Bro. Shirley Byrum, Bro. Barry Birdsong and Bro. James “Totchie” McLain officiating. Burial will follow in the Hytop Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Mr. Parker will lie in state from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Parker is survived by his son, Alford Wayne Parker of New Hope, Al.; two daughters, Dorothy Smedley (Tommy) of Hytop and Ellen Couch (Charles) of Hytop; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Parker; two daughters, Marie Smedley and Mildred Tobeck; one son, Martin Parker; parents, Jess and Minnie Parker; one grandson, Jerry Hoskins; one granddaughter, Heather Utter.
