Jeannine Cooper Downs

Jeannine Cooper Downs, 88, of Huntsville passed away peacefully at her home on June 7, 2021.  She was born on December 12, 1932 in Marshall County, Alabama.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Ralph Downs; her parents Gordon and Jewel Cooper; and sisters Frances Owens and Rosemary Steele.

She is survived by her daughters: Debbie Stafford (Roger), Angie Speegle (Ricky), Gina Silver (Raymond), and Kim Downs; grandchildren Randi Wilson (Nathan), Shane Stafford, Brooke and Lindsey Silver; great-grandchildren Cooper and Rhett Wilson.  She is also survived by her sister Betty Wilkerson (Tommy) and several nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted mother, homemaker, and loyal friend to many.  She was a military spouse and breast cancer survivor.  She loved a good laugh, gardening, shopping, and going to the beach.  Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be at Berryhill Funeral Home from to 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021.  A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at Valhalla Cemetery with Pastor Leroy Caudle, Jr.  officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Clearview Cancer Institute or Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care.
