Richard "Alan" Grice Richard “Alan” Grice, age 61, was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in Jasper, Alabama, where he departed this life surrounded by loved ones.  He most recently lived in Brentwood, Tennessee.  Alan was so full of life!  He loved his family, friends and Alabama Football.  He enjoyed spending time at the beach and Smith Lake.

Alan worked for Community Health Systems, but spent most of his career in the banking industry in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Lacy Elmore Grice, and his grandparents, Louie Coleman Weeks, Lela Rushing Weeks, Elbert Jackson Grice and Emma King Grice.

He is survived by Candy Henderson-Grice who cared about him until the end; his mother, Marilyn Weeks Grice; his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Amy Grice; his sons, William Alan Grice and Clayton Richard Grice, and their mother, Paula Davidson; nieces and nephews Jenny Grice, Jeff Grice, Jr. (Margaret), Emma Grice Keenum (Will), Mollie Davidson Bradford (Kody) and Millie Davidson Waid (Leathan); three great nieces and two great nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper.

The family wishes to extend thankfulness for the loving care he was provided by Ridgeview Health Services, including Dr. Chase Gunter and the nurses and aides that showed genuine love and concern. They would also like to thank Dr. Ike Baker for his care and guidance.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alumni Fund- a scholarship fund set up by the Walker County Chapter of the  University of Alabama Alumni Chapter for the students transferring from Bevill State (Bama Club, PO Box 1671, Jasper, AL 35502) or the charity of your choice.
