Hilton Lee “Popcorn” Moore

Hilton Lee “Popcorn” Moore, 82, passed away on May 27, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. A fixture in the community, known far and wide and beloved by many, he will be sorely missed. He was the owner of Moore’s Body Shop and Wrecker Service. He was also a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Linda Whitehurst Moore; and two daughters, Tracey Moore Hall and husband, Michael, and Sherrie L. Moore.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Hardy Moore and Ruby Lee Wright Moore; his siblings, J. H. Moore and Judy Essary; his brothers-in-law, Lee Lindsey, Roy Daniel, Tody Vandiver, and Clayton Earl Whitehurst; and his sister-in-law, Lila Daniel. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, on Saturday, May 29, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, at New Prospect Church Cemetery in Iuka, MS, officiated by Bro. Jimmy Rich with remarks by Dr. Al Flannery. Interment will be in New Prospect Cemetery. Pallbearers include Mike Hall, Terry Barnes, Mack Phifer, Johnny Nunley, Lenny Johnson, and Johnny Bivins. Honorary pallbearers include Herbert Booker, Don McNeely, and the rest of the regular morning crew at Jack’s. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, or to a charity of your choice.
