Shirley Smith Phillips, 82 of Ardmore, AL passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at her home. She was born May 06, 1939 in Limestone County, Alabama to Cecil M. Smith and Elsie Bailey Smith.

She enjoyed her flowers, traveling, going out to eat with her friends, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of Ardmore First Baptist Church, loved the Lord, going to church, and gospel music. She was a loving and gentle spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Thomas “Jim” Phillips; son, W. Bernie Hicklen Jr; brother, Cecil “Gearil” Smith.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Vickie (Stacey) Eaves, Toney, AL; step-son, Pat (Ann) Phillips of Hampshire, TN; step-daughters, Terri Youngblood, Hampshire, TN and Kristi (Ricky) Suddeath of Allensville, KY; niece, Kim (Butch) Sutton; nephew, Tim (Cathy) Smith; step-granddaughters, Amy Barrero, Ashley Garling, Maritza Rittinghaus and Jennifer Paris; grandchildren, Jordan Eaves and Breanna Eaves; 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Alan Hughes and Bro. Rick Shannon officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Family Care or First Baptist Church of Ardmore, Alabama.

In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, those attending the visitation and service will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be in effect.
