Curtis Jerome Hargraves Sr, age 75 of Decherd, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chattanooga on February 10, 1946 to the late Judge Nesbit “Jack” and Josephine (Young) Hargraves. Curtis was a 1964 graduate of McCallie and attended University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He owned and operated several businesses in Chattanooga thru the years. He had been employed by the Chattanooga Times and the Tullahoma News, but had retired from the Hamilton County Court House where he had been employed as a court officer for over twenty years. Curtis was very creative and used his creativeness to build gas model airplanes and “tinkering” on things. He enjoyed racing and building motorcycles and dirt bikes, as well as off-roading in the mountains. Curtis is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Frances Hargraves of Decherd; children, Katie Hargraves of Winchester, and Curtis “C.J.” Hargraves of Decherd; and many cousins.
