ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident on Monday, May 24 that has taken the life of one person:
“A two-vehicle crash at approximately 10:34 a.m. Monday, May 24, has claimed the life of an Evansville, Ind., man.
John A. Bender, 55, was fatally injured when the 2006 Chevy Silverado he was driving struck the rear of a 2016 Volvo semi-truck and overturned. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Volvo was not injured.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near U.S. 72, approximately one mile east of Athens. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
