Judie May Tucker Altmeyer

On Thursday, May 13, 2021, Fayetteville lost a culinary legend as Judie May Tucker Altmeyer went home to be with Jesus and the love of her life Ed Altmeyer. Judie was formerly co-owner of the Old Lamplighter and Altmeyer Grocery Store. She was a loving wife to her late husband Ed, who she married in Michigan on December 23, 1960. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and was a member of Harmony Hill Church of God. Funeral services for Ms. Judie May Tucker Altmeyer will be conducted at 3 PM, Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery.

Judie was born on November 10, 1941 in Kelso, TN to the late Glenn and Johnnie Mae Hickson Tucker. She enjoyed game night, playing scrabble with her family, loved reading and was a big Elvis Presley fan.

Survivors include Daughters; Donna Davis of Flintville; Patricia Davis (Charlie) of Fayetteville and April Leslie (Sean) of Taft. Sons; Eddie Altmeyer (Susan) of Fayetteville and Richard Altmeyer also of Kelso. Brother; Glenn Tucker, Jr (Carla) of Fayetteville. Granddaughters; Jennifer Altmeyer Hudson (Scott); Michelle Davis Coffey (Ayden); Miriam Davis, and Rebekah Davis. Grandsons; Daniel Davis, Joshua Davis (fiance Grace), and Tuc Leslie as well as many nieces and nephews and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Sister, Joyce Marie Crider; Brother, Infant Billy Joe Tucker; Daughter, Sandra Elizabeth Altmeyer; Granddaughter, Chandra Leigh Davis and Son in law, Danny Davis.

Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM – 3 PM on Sunday, May 16, 2021. Memorials can be made to Harmony Hill Church of God at 3063 Huntsville Highway, Fayetteville, TN 37334 in lieu of flowers.
