Funeral Services for Mr. Clay East, age 13 of Lineville, will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Olive Branch Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Richie Farrow officiating. Burial will follow at the Lineville City Cemetery.
Clay passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Clay County Hospital. He was born in Alexander City, and had lived all of his life in Lineville. Clay had a witty sense of humor, was a story teller, and was the life of the party to his friends and family. He enjoyed running with his teammates on the Central High School Cross Country team, was a member of the Jr. Beta Club, loved being outdoors and walking in the woods. He also enjoyed playing video games, loved anything to do with Star Wars, Mario, and Legos, and playing soccer. Most of all, He was a servant of the Lord, adored his family and friends, and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.
Clay is survived by his parents: Chip and Cindee East; his sister, Sarah Belle East; his paternal grandfather, Tommy East, all of Lineville; his maternal grandparents: Milton and Paulette Ellington of Rockford; his great Uncle and Aunt: Z.R. and Brenda East of Lineville; his aunts and uncles: Johnathan and Ann East of Wedowee, Robby Ellington of Rockford, Wendy Simpkins of Lineville, and a large extended family.
He is preceded in death by his Paternal Great-grandparents: Bill and Ola East, and his maternal Great-grandparents: Troy and Ophelia Eason and Bob and Vesta Ellington.
Active Pallbearers will be: Ryan Seals, Bryan Amason, Brent Wheeler, Johnathan East, Robby Ellington, Greg Gidley, Cody Cochrum, and Noah Amason.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ayden Gidley, Kaden Cantrell, Addyson Adams, Katie Cochrum, Jonah Amason, and his Cross Country Teammates.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Olive Branch Baptist Church from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. He will lie in state for one hour prior to service time on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Olive Branch Baptist Church.
