ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident has taken the life of one person near Athens:
“A single-vehicle crash at approximately 12:56 p.m. Friday, April 30, has claimed the life of a Madison woman.
Ashley Christine Cole Renfroe, 33, was fatally injured when the 2003 Chevy Trailblazer she was driving left the roadway, hit a tree, overturned, ejecting her. Renfroe, who was not using her seat belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 251 near Shelton Road, approximately 14 miles north of Athens. Nothing further is available as Troopers with Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
