FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a Rogersville man in the stabbing of another person on Court Street on April 30:
“On April 30, 2021, at approximately 1:07 AM, officers responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of North Court Street in Florence.
When officers arrived they located a twenty-nine year old male with stab wounds to the abdomen. First aid was being provided by an off-duty Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Deputy and Hellen Keller Nurse.
By-standards had Dustin Blake Garner, 34, of Rogersville detained and he was identified as the offender. Garner was charged with assault first and, is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center with a $30,000 bond.
The victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital by air ambulance. The victim’s status is unknown at the time of this release.”
