D. W. (Don) Howton

D. W. (Don) Howton passed away surrounded by his family at home on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Don loved his family, his farm, his cows, and dog, Rosie. Most of all he loved his Heavenly Father. Don was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, coach, businessman, and role model. He was a Navy Veteran. Don was a graduate of the University of Alabama. He retired from a successful career from the IRS. Don’s interests included politics and Alabama football. We are consoled that he is finally at peace.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Linda Howton, his Mother, Rosa Nicholson Howton, and Father, Willie Howton. Also his brother, Robert Howton and his sister, Sue Buckner.Don is survived by his wife of 13 years, Bea Howton, his daughter, Cindy Huet (Chris) of Harvest, AL, son, Bryan Howton of Gurley, AL, and son, Stephen Howton, of New Hope, AL, his Stepson, Jim Busby (Jayna) of Birmingham, AL, and stepdaughter, Janet Roberts (Greg) of Hoover, AL. Also his Granddaughter, Ashleigh Savo, Grandson, Austin Howton, Granddaughter, Maegan Bower, Grandson, Camp Busby, and Granddaughter, Ann-Ashton Busby.

The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hampton Cove Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 12:30 pm-2:00 pm. The service will begin immediately afterward in the chapel at 2:00 pm.

Mr. Howton , a good friend respected by all . Friend of his son Bryan an Steve , sorry to hear the loss was a fine man. The memories of him are treasured.
