Elizabeth Lynn Herman, age 62, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2021. Lynn was born on September 3, 1958 and was the daughter of Linda and Lawrence Spittler. She was a kind and generous person who committed her life to the service of others. Lynn was a dedicated elementary school teacher who loved her students. She was one of the founders of Special Session at Camp McDowell, a camp for adults of all abilities, and consistently showed up as a member of the support staff every year since 1998. She was not only a dedicated mama to Sam, Lauren, and Josh; she was a mama to anyone who needed a friend. Lynn taught us how to show up with open arms and to laugh with a full voice. She taught us how to grow and keep growing. She taught us to forgive and how to fight for things worth fighting for. She loved us well.
Lynn is survived by her father, her brothers Lee and Larry Allen, and her three children Sam, Josh, and Lauren.
A service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Huntsville on
Friday, April 23, at 2pm and will be live-streamed on the links below.
