Wathena June McCumber, 86, of Huntsville passed away peacefully at her home on April 16, 2021. Also known as the “Lady On the Mountain” and “Momma Rabbit”, she was a great lover of nature and an advocate for all animals. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Henry McCumber Jr.
She leaves behind 6 children, Keith McCumber (Rosemarie), Mark McCumber, Kathy Davis (Wayne), Deirdre Dunbar (Larry), Matthew McCumber and Victoria Hunter as well as 5 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 1 great granddaughter.
A celebration of life will be held in her home by her family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Huntsville Humane Society or American Cancer Society.
