It is with great sadness that the family of James William Bice announces his passing after a heart attack on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the age of 61. James was born on December 26, 1959, in Cullman, Alabama to Ernie and Overa Bice. After graduating from Cullman High School in 1978, James attended Wallace State Community College before joining the Air Force in 1981. After leaving the Air Force in 1984, James worked as a machinist in Cullman, Alabama, and remained a member of the Air National Guard from 1984 to 2012. James was proud to serve his country and completed numerous deployments including Guam, Turkey, and England before retiring as a Tech Sergeant. In 2013, James moved to Tucson, Arizona to be closer to his daughter and three grandchildren. He was employed as a machinist at Competitive Engineering since 2014. He met Kirsten Knox in May 2014 and they were married in November 2019. James was loved by many. He was kind, hilariously funny, generous, and loving. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Kirsten, spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music, watching the Auburn Tigers play football, and spending time outdoors. James is survived by his wife, Kirsten Bice; his children Heather (Steve) Bossé and Tyler Bice and their mother Lisa Heatherly Bice, his grandchildren Smith, August, and Lewis Bossé; his mother Overa Twilley, and his brothers Ernie Bice, David (Kelly) Bice, Curtis (Rebecca) Bice, Doug (Tammie) Bice, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Ernie Bice. The memorial service for James is on Saturday, April 17th at 2 pm at Moss Service Funeral Home in Cullman, Alabama. Military graveside service to be held at a later date. The Tucson memorial service is to be determined. “So forget about your yesterdays of sorrow And forget about the darkness you have seen.
