Myra Lanita Fields, age 63, died at UAB Hospital Palliative Care April 13, 2021 at the result of cardiac arrest.
Myra is survived by her Mother, Kathleen Fields and sister, Linda Rogerlene Fields and a host of friends and family. She predeceased by her father, Roger H. Fields.
She was a graduate of Walker County High School and Walker College. Myra was employed for 44 years by Crowne Partners of Jasper, Alabama.
Myra was an accomplished musician and served as pianist at Aiken Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. She also served as church secretary and treasurer. She volunteered as pianist at other Baptist churches in Walker County. In addition to her skills as a pianist she enjoyed playing the accordion and as treasure of the Accordion Association.
She was a champion bowler, winning many awards as a member of the Just Rolling Along Jasper League. Many friends also benefitted from Myra’s cooking skills and generosity of time and talents.
Visitation will be held at Aiken Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, May 16, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 pm. with funeral services following at the church at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Wayne Williams and the Rev. Mark Otts officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.
