Valerie Ann Holmes Maples, age 41, passed away on April 12, 2021 in Camden, where she had lived for the past 4 years. She was born January 13, 1980. Valerie was a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and beloved member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Lexington. She loved her children, cooking, and her dog, Ellie Mae. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Clarence Maples, Jr. and her grandparents, Kermit “Red” and Marie Gilbert and Joe and Mary “Mub” Holmes. She is survived by her two daughters, Kaylee Grace and Laney Claire Maples; her parents, Steve and Rita Holmes; her siblings, Brandy (Michael) Austin and Richie Holmes; her boyfriend, Tadd Schlegel; and her two nephews, Quaidan and Quentin Austin. Valerie will forever be loved and missed by many. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Friday, April 16, 2021 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 AM – 8 PM and on Friday 10 AM until time of service.
