Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Dr. Robert W. Habbick, age 85 of Winchester.  Dr. Habbick passed away at his home on the evening of March 30, 2021.  A native of New York, NY, he completed undergraduate studies at the State University of New York, Oswego where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1958.  He received a Master of Arts degree in psychology from Syracuse University in 1963.  He received a Ph.D.  in clinical psychology from Syracuse University in 1968.  He served in numerous positions throughout his distinguished career.    Dr. Habbick was the founder and director of PsychBiz, a counseling firm serving business and industries which he operated from 1987 until the time of his death.  He also served in the Psychology Department at several universities as the Chair, Instructor, Assistant Professor and Professor.  He also attended U.S. Intelligence Schools in Maryland and Virginia.  From 1974 until his retirement in 2002, he was the Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist and Clinical director at the Center for Counseling and Psychotherapy, Haverhill, MA (formerly Dr. R. W. Habbick Associates).  He also served as an Intelligence Analyst and Counterintelligence Operative in several U. S. agencies. Most recently he served as a Consultant and Psychotherapy Trainer at the Family Counseling Centers in Winchester, Shelbyville and Manchester, TN.  He also authored columns in Psychology and Life, which appeared in the Haverhill Gazette, Haverhill, Massachusetts and Parenting Effectively which appeared in the Eagle Tribune, Lawrence, Massachusetts.  Dr. Habbick has been a member of the Winchester First Baptist Church since 2002, when he and his wife established their home in Winchester.  Dr. Habbick is preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Cowles Habbick and his father, Robert William Habbick, Sr.; son Robert Scott Habbick; brother-in-law, Victor Kotiadis.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie Garand Habbick; sons, Cameron and wife, Rebecca Habbick of Isle of Palms, SC and David and wife Susan Habbick of Lynchburg, VA; sister, Jeanne Kotiadis of Highland, NY; step-daughter, Denise and husband, Craig Liffner of Merrimack, NH; Step-sons, Gordon and wife Rebecca Brown of North Port, FL, Mark and wife Matina Brown of Plastow, NH and Michael Brown of Uxbridge, MA.; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  The family plans a celebration of the remarkable life of Dr. Habbick which will be announced later by Watson-North Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Winchester First Baptist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
