Philip "Phil" Charles Hew Len Jr. Philip “Phil” Charles Hew Len, Jr. entered eternal rest on March 28, 2021.

Phil was born on July 6, 1941 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Philip and Mercy. He was a proud and loyal veteran of the United Stated Army and was honorably discharged at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas after 21 years of service.

He was a kind and loving partner to his spouse Judy, as well as an amazing father to his three kids. Phil was funny, sincere, supportive, uniquely expressive and had a strong presence that everyone wanted to be around. He was greatly respected by his family and friends.

Phil loved serving in the Army and was devoted to training young men to become soldiers. He was a 2nd degree black belt karate instructor, was well-known for being physically fit, and always looked many years younger than his age! Phil greatly enjoyed his life in Huntsville, Alabama and would say that despite the pollen, Alabama was his home.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; the mother of his children, Frances Emily; his son, Terry-Lee Hew Len; his daughters, Tina-Marie Leilani Hew Len-Castro and Tracy-Ann Kealohaoklani Hew Len-Borrego; his brothers, Eugene Wallace Mitchell, Robert Keamohuli, and Charles Keoni Mingh Phoung; his sister, Betty Ann Kealohaoklani Hew Len Hurdle; his stepmother, Pham Thi Lam; his nine grandchildren; and his seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Charles Hew Len, Sr. and Mercy Kealohaoklani Lawelawe Hew Len; and his stepdaughter, Tammy Hoffman.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 1st at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with Dr. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
