Dorothy Ratcliff, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2021. Dorothy was born May 8, 1941 in Decatur, AL to Vivian and Mark Morris. On April 15, 1960 she married Marion Lafayette Ratcliff (Doc). She and Doc were blessed to share 54 years of marriage, and a long legacy of community involvement.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband: Doc Ratcliff, Mother: Vivian Sowell, Father: Mark Morris, Sister: Marylene Morris McDonald, and Brothers: Jay, Howard, & Billy Morris.
She is survived by sons Joel Shayne Ratcliff, Kenneth Patrick Ratcliff (Bubba) and his wife Lisa Byrom Ratcliff. Grandchildren Kenneth Patrick Ratcliff, Jr., Timothy Allen Ratcliff, Joel Shayne Ratcliff, Jr., Kiersten Layne Ratcliff, Jennifer Johnson Thompson and Jason Nathaniel Johnson and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29 at 12 pm in the chapel at Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville with a Graveside Service to follow at 1pm at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
