Amelia O’Bryant, 96, passed away the evening of March 22, 2021. She was born in Clay, Kentucky, the only child of Samson and Vera Lipford. She married Mason O’Bryant July 20,1941.
She worked in the Transportation Office at Camp Picket in Blackstone, Virginia during World War II while her husband was overseas and at Camp Breckenridge in Union County, Kentucky when he completed his service. In 1953 the couple moved to Huntsville, Alabama and lived on top of beautiful Monte Sano mountain. She was a fulltime mother, gardener, Avon representative and homemaker. After raising her own family, she was committed to helping her parents during years of their declining health. She loved her family and times of family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years. Survivors are her son Carvel Richard O’Bryant (Mary) of Huntsville, Alabama and her daughter Sharon O’Bryant Wincey (Ronald) of Huntsville, Alabama, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Rice officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
