Sue Barnett

was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on July 6, 1947 the daughter of the late Carl Mack Smith and Roberta Baugus Setsor.

On May 1, 1988 she was united in marriage to Jack Barnett, who preceded his wife in death on May 31, 2015.

Sue was a homemaker and she would help her husband with background checks. She enjoyed traveling, decorating, talking with her sister on the phone, and painting, which she was an excellent artist. Sue’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She departed this life on Sunday, March 21, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 15 days.

Sue is survived by her beloved son, Tye Barnett and his wife Amanda of DeQueen, Arkansas; grandchildren, Corey Hyatt, Grady Nelon, Bonnie Pohly, Dale Barnett, Monroe Barnett, and Asa Barnett; and her sister, Carla Woods and her husband James of Kankakee, Illinois.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Chris Nelon, one sister, Geneva Smith, and one brother, James Smith.
