Otha Keith (Tootsie) Smith Jr. of Parsons, TN, formerly of Collinwood, TN, was born July 25, 1934 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late Otha Keith and Mary Fannie Shipman Smith. He was united in marriage to the former Jo Ann Martin and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2007.
Mr. Smith was a retired plant superintendent at the Foundry of the Shoals and was of the Protestant faith. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 7 Months, 20 Days.
He is survived by a son, Bryan Smith (Ann) of Parsons, TN; granddaughters, Amanda Rea (Charlie) and Ashley Smith (Thomas); great-grandchildren, Blakelynn, Jo Anna, Anna Claire, Harper, Remington and Brycen; a brother, David Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; a sister, Margaret Daniel of Collinwood, TN and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Otha Keith Smith III; two brothers, W. C. Smith and Melvin (Pill) Smith and a sister, Ruth Hanback.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Tim Hanback and David Smith officiating. Military rites will be given. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the Collinwood American Legion Post 254 or the Butterfly Foundation.
