Thomas Larry Damron Thomas Larry Damron, age 71 of Elora, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 25, 1949 in Elora to the late Otis Lee and America Lena (Hall) Damron. A Vietnam Veteran, Larry participated in over thirty combat convoys in the Republic of South Vietnam and received the Line Haul Tab Award for his service from in the United States Army. He drove a truck from 1971-2002 and was known as “Mud Flap” to his truck driver friends. For over twenty-nine years, Larry had Parkinson’s disease, but he was always a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and chief (as he was called by the grandchildren). He was a big cut-up and loved pulling pranks. Larry also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and working in the yard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Houston Damron. Larry is survived by his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Sheila Damron of Elora; children, Jeremy (Erin) Damron of Huntsville, Thomas (Brooklyn) Damron of Lascassas, and Savanna (Chris) Damron of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Arrow, Juniper, Luke, and Larkin; sister, Geneva Roden of Huntsville; brother, Terry Damron of Elora; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Huntland Church of Christ with Brother Kyle Macon and Brother Lucas Stone officiating.
