J. D. Hodges, age 83 of Clarksville passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 2pm on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Springfield with Bro. Terry Bear officiating. The family will receive friends 1pm until time of service at the funeral home on Sunday. Entombment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Due to COVID 19, the family request that those in attendance to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
He was born in Clarksville, TN on May 26, 1937 to the late Henry Douglas and Eula Mae Mackens Hodges. He was also preceded in death by sister, Ruth Sykes and husband, Andy Sykes.
He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed picking on others and joking. He loved watching the Tennessee Titans and old westerns on TV.
He is survived by Wife, Joyce Ann Wilson Hodges of Clarksville; son, Danny Hodges of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Lisa (Dwayne) Miller of Springville, TN; siblings, James (Gloria) Hodges of Adams, TN, Clara (Allen) Rushing of Clarksville, TN, Eugene (Dick) Hodges of SC, Betty (Ray) Peters of TX, Randall (Gisela) Hodges of Huntingdon, TN, Gwen (Pat) Hodges of AL, Larry (Paula) Hodges of FL; grandchildren, Ryan Hodges, Stacey Cleary, Danielle Fleming, Jarrett Miller and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jarrett Miller, Dwayne Miller, Darrell Van Meter, Lucas Wilkins, Gabriel Rylee and Jason Cleary. Honorary pallbearer will be Liam Cleary.
